Join the Commissioner for Residential Tenancies and Consumer Policy Research Centre for the launch of Life in Residential Parks — a research report examining the experiences of Victorians living in residential parks.
This milestone research project has been a year in the making, involving extensive engagement with residents, industry stakeholders, and community organisations across Victoria. The report provides crucial insights into the challenges facing residential park communities and offers evidence-based recommendations for policy reform.
With many years of experience working in the housing, and homelessness sectors, Dr Holst is a strong champion for the rights of Victorian renters. This includes residents of rooming houses, caravan parks and residential parks.
She has worked in Melbourne and regional Victoria in a wide range of roles with community organisations, including Tenants Victoria and Launch Housing. In these roles, Dr Holst designed and operated a range of housing projects, support programs and rough sleeping solutions.
The Victorian Government appointed Dr Heather Holst, in September 2018, the first time an Australian government had created such a role to hear advice about the needs of renters.
As a lifelong resident of the Bentleigh electorate, Nick ran for Parliament to ensure that local schools had modern, comfortable facilities for our students and teachers.
The priorities Nick has for his community are to ensure that local schools are properly resourced to provide the best possible education, that sports clubs have modern facilities, that roads and public transport network are safe and reliable, and that local health services are accessible.
Nick’s vision for Victoria’s future is that the Government continues to provide opportunities to Victorians by offering them the best possible education and training, so that people have the skills to secure stable employment and enjoy the dignity of work.
Sarah brings social research experience from the justice and union sectors, specialising in qualitative research, policy analysis and advocacy. This experience has included writing submissions to Royal Commissions and inquiries, and sitting on ethics and legislative reform committees.
Sam joined Serenitas in 2023 as their Southern Regional Manager and has been involved in business operations, customer experience and service delivery and commercial management for over 30 years.
He supports Serenitas in the ongoing expansion of their residential parks business across the Victoria (SA, Tasmania and NSW). Prior to joining Serenitas, Sam was the General Manager at AVA Communities, Operations Manager (Residential Parks) at Stockland for nearly three years, and the Head of Operations for Lifestyle Communities for nearly nine years.
After six years as Committee Vice President, Sam was voted President in 2024.
