CPRC is developing an Annual Consumer Index to enable transparent measurement of consumer detriment or satisfaction. In this work, we will be consulting extensively with regulators, industry, policymakers and the community sector.
The Index will have application to policy reform and potential regulatory intervention, while enabling learnings to be shared across sectors to drive practice changes and improve consumer outcomes.
The operation of markets, and the exchange of goods and services, is central to our economy. Ensuring we have ‘healthy markets’ – those working in the interests of community and consumers – is central to long-term economic sustainability and consumer wellbeing.
By developing this market health check, consumer outcomes can be longitudinally tracked to provide greater transparency around key indicators across sectors.
