Representing consumers and helping them secure fair outcomes in the marketplace has always been central to my work – at Financial Ombudsman Service in the UK, the Consumers Federation of Australia, or in my current role as Independent Customer Advocate at NAB – which is why I’m passionate about the work the CPRC does.

The Thriving Communities Partnership (TCP) is a cross-sector collaboration aimed at ensuring that everybody has fair access to the modern essential services they need to thrive in contemporary Australia: including utilities, financial services, telecommunications and transport. The TCP will provide Australia’s first centralised platform for collaboration, learning, research and projects – such as the Building Consumer Trust project – that advance organisational contributions to combatting customer vulnerability and hardship.

On 23 August 2017, the Victorian Minister for Consumer Affairs, Gaming and Liquor Regulation officially launched CPRC, Australia’s first ever consumer-focused think tank. Held at Victorian Parliament House, the event was attended by over 70 representatives from consumer organisations, academia, industry and consumer-focused government agencies.
