NEW SURVEY SEEKS INPUT TO IMPROVE RESIDENTIAL PARK LIVING IN VICTORIA

The Consumer Policy Research Centre (CPRC), in partnership with the Commissioner for Residential Tenancies, is launching a survey to understand and address challenges faced by residents in Victoria’s residential parks.

Released today, the online survey is seeking input from former, current and prospective residential park residents, as well as their families, and on-site and off-site park managers.

The survey forms part of a research project to be provided to the Victorian Government in response to reports of unfair practices and financial strain affecting park residents.

CPRC CEO Erin Turner said, “This survey seeks to understand the experience of people living or working in residential parks. We want to hear about what’s working and what people are struggling with.

“In the context of the housing crisis, it’s so important that there are suitable protections for all types of housing, including residential parks.”

This Victorian Government-funded initiative seeks to gather crucial insights from residents, industry experts, housing professionals, and community organisations.

Commissioner for Residential Tenancies, Heather Holst, said, “This research project is an important step in understanding the issues within residential parks.

“We look forward to receiving input from all stakeholders to inform future policy directions,” Holst said.

CPRC urges all current and prospective residential park stakeholders to participate.

“Your voice today could prevent hardships tomorrow and help create a fairer system for all.

“This is not just about housing; it’s about safety and security for thousands of Victorians,” Turner said.
